GREEN THUMB

By Arnold Krusemark Another week has passed in April. Our yard and gardening work continues but slowly. We do notice the first flowers of Spring. We’ve seen tulips in their beautiful flowers. And then our yard has dandelions too. Soon we will need the lawn mowed. For now the grass is growing. As mentioned in past columns most of us need to do some yard cleanup. Usually we also had our first bonfire to dispose of the dead branches which came down over winter. The occasional rains are nice too. Then we can have good things growing - not just flowers. And our garden needs work too. This includes clearing, plowing and then planting. And then to watch for our first garden produce - radishes of course.

THEOLOGY IN THE TRENCHES

A Light in the Darkness Twas early morn before the dark disappeared—you know the hour, when the dawn yawns. Twas too dark to write and so turning on one light appeared to be the right thing to do.

REBEL GIRLS CELEBRATE BIG WIN OVER HLOF

The MCC Rebel Softball team has been lucky so far this season to play a majority of their schedule. On Thursday the Rebels played a team that has had no luck at all. The Rebels hosted the Coyotes of Heron Lake Okabena Fulda who had played just one game all year compared to the Rebels 5. The Rebels have fallen behind in almost every game they have played this season but that did not happen on Thursday, as the Rebels took control early and never looked back.
