An amazing evening promoting healthy living programming at the MN 4-H event on April 23 at the Malcom Market yards in Minneapolis. Promoting our popular SWIM program - seeing wellness in motion program with Stacy Johnson from Redwood County, our state 4-H leader, Jennifer Skuza, the new Healthy Living Specialist, Ayesha Baltaci, and the national 4-H president, Jill Bramble. Along with our SW colleagues, MaryAnn Anderson, Lac Qui Parle, and Suzanne Souza, Big Stone, who promoted their Tasty Tuesday’s program.

The SWIM program -Seeing Wellness in Motion 4-H programming was developed by local Extension Educators Kim Hause, Murray County, and Stacy Johnson, Redwood County. SWIM offers local youth the opportunity for competitive swim and track and field programs. SWIM also works with youth to work on life skills, team building, and healthy living choices and promotes opportunities for youth teaching youth and youth mentorship.

Murray County 4-H Swim team will start practices in June and will compete in 5 swim meets throughout June and July. Practices are held at the Slaytona City Pool and meets are throughout the Southwest region. This year Murray County 4-H SWIM coaches are Karlie Heezen and Amber Martin.
