Murray County 4-H was fortunate to have youth participate in the 2024 State Project Bowl Competition. 4-H State Project Bowl was held on April 6, 2024, at Rice High School in Sauk Rapids, MN.

Murray County 4-H had an Intermediate General Livestock Project Bowl team consisting of Eli Baumgartner, Lucas Boerboom, BR Heronimus, Tyler, and Garret Reith compete at the 2024 State Project Bowl Competition. This age division consists of youth between third and eighth grade. This team ended up placing fifth overall in the Intermediate Division.

Kylie Brands competed on the Senior Horse Project Bowl team with Lac Qui Parle and Chippewa Counties where they went on to be the champions within that age division.

Both teams qualified for the state competition on March 16, 2024, at Redwood Falls High School.

This year, Murray County 4-H sent teams to our regional competition for horse, general livestock, and poultry. Thank you to our volunteers who took the role of leading practices for these divisions. Our horse volunteers were Darcie Spartz and Amanda Grogan. The general livestock volunteer was Linnea Surprenant, and poultry volunteers were Cheryl Heard and Amy Nepp.

The competition consists of two rounds per match, the first round is strictly head-to-head, where team competitors are given the same question, and who ever hits the buzzer first will get the opportunity to answer the question, but if they answer the question incorrectly, the other team will get the chance to answer that same question. The second round consists of a potential bonus question for the team, where they can talk it out and give the answer as a group.
