Donald “Don” Paul Vosberg, age 86 of Westbrook, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024 at Sanford Westbrook Hospital.

Donald “Don” Paul Vosberg was born May 6, 1937 to George and Rosa “Rose” (Cohrs) Vosberg on the farm in Murray Township, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Zion Evangelical in Dovray. Don attended Country School #53 and graduated from Westbrook High School. He then joined the U.S. Army, where he was a Military Police officer. While he was stationed in Germany, he worked in the motor pool. After serving his country for two years he was honorably discharged. Don lived in the Twin Cities and worked at an acid engraving circuit board business for two years. While he lived in the cities, Don met the love of his life Janet “Jan” Massey at a party. On December 9, 1961, the couple was united in marriage at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dovray. The couple moved back to the Westbrook area in the early 1960’s to start a family. Eventually Don bought the hardware/farm store in Dovray in the early 1970’s. Don also worked for the township as a grader. Don and Jan loved to travel, especially with family and friends. They toured Europe, where they visited Don’s cousins in Luxembourg, Germany. The couple also enjoyed an Alaskan cruise and often wintered in Florida, Arizona, Texas and Colorado. Don was a member of the Dovray American Legion and volunteered for the Dovray Fire Department. He was also on the Pleasant View Cemetery board for numerous years, where he did maintenance. Don was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dovray. He was a lifelong golfer and enjoyed his membership at Rolling Hills Golf Course. Don loved his boys Bruce and Roy dearly. He will be deeply missed.

Donald is survived by his son Roy (special friend Jane Fonger); brothers Dale (Mary Ann) and Gordon (Linda); and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Jan, son Bruce in 2012, and brother Duane (Margaret).

Memorial Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2024 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dovray. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at church on Monday. Interment was in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Dovray.
