Attention Cancer Survivors Our 2019 Relay For Life Of Murray County Is Just Around The Corner
If you are a new cancer survivor or have not registered with the Relay For Life Murray County previously, please contact Linda Tobias at 763-3173 or Helen Brinks at 507-763-3775 to sign up.If you have received previous mailings or attended a previous event in Murray County you are already signed up and will be receiving the invite with replay card early July.
This year we will again be celebrating cancer survivors in coordination with the relay team event on Saturday August 10th.The Pork Producers will be preparing the pork loin and the Dairy Association will have Sundaes for your enjoyment. We ask that you be at the Fairgrounds 4-H building for Registration between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.If you are a cancer survivor your meal is provided in part due to a contribution from the teachers and staff of MCC again this year.You are welcome to bring one guest to the reception but we request a $5.00 contribution for their meal.
Following dinner there will be the survivor walk followed by the team parade of champions and an all survivor butterfly release sponsored by Todd Hieronimus/Totzke funeral home.The butterfly release promises to be an awesome site as well as experience for all of the cancer survivors

OLD COOTS AT THE MURRAY COUNTY FAIR
Through a joint project with the Murray County Fair Board and the Murray County Historical Society, a special tent will be set up near the log cabin and Heritage Hall during the 2019 Fair called “Old Coots Giving Advice”. It will be a fun place to hang out and relive each other’s stories about history and the fair or to just give out free advice to strangers! Want to share some of your “expert advice”? Contact the Murray County Museum at 507-836-6533 to pick a shift or just show up at the tent and share your gift of gab. The Murray County Fair is August 14 – 17, 2019.
Murray County Fair 5K to Kick Off the 2019 Fair
The Murray County Fair is announcing a change to the 5K/1M Run/Walk event for 2019. This year it will be the KICK OFF event for the fair to encourage a fun family gathering before the fair officially starts.Runners and walkers of all ages and levels are encouraged to participate in either the 5K or 1-mile routes which will start at the front of the courthouse and ends near the fairgrounds and the Pork/Malt Stand.
Each run/walk participant will receive a souvenir, a coupon for a meal and a coupon for a malt too!Don’t feel like exercising, but want to enjoy a pork burger meal or a delicious malt without worrying about the long lines during the fair?The pork/malt stand will start serving at 5:30 p.m. to the public for this kickoff Tuesday, August 13th event at the 2019 Murray County Fair.Costs to the public will be the normal meal prices with additional options to donate to the fair.
If you are a competitor, your running times will be recorded, but it isn’t a serious competition. Want to bring your kids on a stroll on their way to the fair?This is the event to do it.
Cost to register to run/walk will be $20 per person or $50 per family which will include your meal/malt tickets, souvenir, and water after the race.All proceeds of this event will support the free entertainment options for the 2020 fair!To register go to www.murraycountyfair.com/5K
