Golden Living Center of Slayton Changes Ownership and Names
By Theresa Nysetvold
The Golden Living Center in Slayton is receiving another name change as new operator Superior Healthcare will own and manage the long-term care facility. On February 1st, GLC became the “Slayton Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center”. Director Tess Pridal is excited about the change, saying, “We have always had quality care for our residents, but now it will be even better. This company is committed to more of a hometown feel. They will maintain good staffing ratios and the quality of care will be high.” Superior Healthcare also purchased facilities in Wabasso, Benson, Franklin, Walker, Moorhead, Olivia, Henning and Hillcrest of Wayzata, doubling the size of their company through these acquisitions. Their corporate office is in Minneapolis and Ms. Pridal will continue to manage the Slayton and Olivia care centers. Families and residents will notice few immediate changes in services or the facility. “Our rehabilitation services are still very good, and we will still have respite and hospice care,” said Ms. Pridal. “One area of expansion will be with more complex health issues and specialties.” She is also looking forward to staffing ratios that will allow more time for personal interactions with the residents.
The Slayton Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is not only a wonderful place to live, it is a great place to work as well. Ms. Pridal emphasized the competitive wages and salaries that are available, and noted that even with the change in leadership the insurance plans and benefits were matched. Anyone interested in employment is encouraged to call or stop by. Slayton Rehabilitation and Healthcare is located at 2957 Redwood Avenue and the phone number is: 507-836-6135.
