Our school has been tremendously blessed by the kindness of others during this holiday season.Several community members contacted me with hopes of “adopting” a family they could help this Christmas. In the end, 12 families in our district received gifts, household items, gift cards, etc. from their “Secret Santas”.MCC staff would like to take this opportunity to thank those Secret Santas for their tremendous generosity!
We would also like to thank the Slayton Pizza Ranch for providing a small pizza certificate for each of the 40 participants in the MCC Backpack Program. This program provides food packages for elementary students in need that go home in their backpacks each week.
Many thanks to Finley Engineering for their donation to the MCC Children’s Fund. This fund helps pay for items that students may need, but cannot afford. These items include winter clothing, tennis shoes, hygiene supplies, eyeglasses, etc. This fund is a wonderful resource for our staff to access as we strive to help meet the needs of all students.
We also extend out thanks to all of the community members and parents who have sent gifts, goodies, helped with classroom activities and attended programs this holiday season.Your support helps to keep our school vibrant and strong.Happy Holidays to you all!

I am so grateful that Bible prophecy was fulfilled two thousand years ago and that God came in the person of Jesus Christ. “He shall be called Emmanuel. (God with us). Isaiah 7:14. Jesus was born to die, to be our substitute, to bear the sin of the world. “He who knew no sin was made to be sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Cor. 5:21. If we repent of our sin and surrender our lives to Christ – God declares that we are righteous, (in right standing with God). Romans 5:1 “Therefore, being justified (made righteous) by faith, we have peace with God.” Isn’t that wonderful news?!!!
Jesus lived a sinless life and only His blood was powerful enough to redeem mankind on the cross. That’s why He was born of a virgin. If Joseph had been His biological father His blood could never have redeemed us.
Jesus hung on that cross for us. He paid the penalty for all of our sin. He died on the cross, was laid in a tomb, and on the third day He was raised from the dead and ascended to heaven where He now sits on His Throne at the right hand of God the father. Think of it; the manger where He had laid is empty; the cross where He suffered and died is empty; the tomb where His body laid for three days is also empty. Don’t look for Him in any of those places for He has ascended, and “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them who believe on His name.” John 1:12. When we receive Christ as Lord and Savior of our lives He comes to live within us by the power of the Holy Spirit. “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world”. 1 John 4:4.Happy New Year, as you walk each day with Jesus.
