A Holiday Thank You
MCC Schools have been very busy over the past several weeks! We wish to extend a warm thank you to all of the parents, family, and community members who have come out to help support our students at special events. Your presence at concerts, sporting events, craft and goodie making days, etc. has been noticed and very much appreciated!
We have been very fortunate over the past several years to have groups and individuals reach out to us in hopes of helping a family at Christmastime. This year, 13 MCC families were blessed by these “Secret Santas”. Our school is so grateful to these kind people for reaching out and helping our students and their families!
The MCC Schools would like to extend our warmest holiday greetings to you. May you enjoy health, happiness, and a wonderful time with family and friends!
Snow Is Falling Books Are Calling Winter Reading Program 2020
Snow is Falling Books are Calling, the annual winter reading program sponsored by the Plum Creek Library System and its member libraries, will begin January 1, and run through March 31, 2020. The program, open to ages 16 and older, is held every year during the winter months, and rewards readers for doing what they love to do: READ.
Participation is easy: Simply sign up at your local library. The Slayton Public Library will give you a reading log to record the number of books read. Then get set to read at least 12 books during the 3-month long program. Readers are encouraged to read as many titles as they choose, however in order for their reading log to be counted, a minimum of 12 books read is required. Titles may be in any format including audio books and e-books.
There will be a prize drawing every 2 weeks for those that participate in the reading program. And a grand prize drawing for those readers that complete their reading logs.
Make plans to stop at the Slayton Public Library to register for the Winter Reading Program, and get set to enjoy winter reading!
